As a former teacher, Joseph understands the importance of genuine caregiving. Originally from Chicago, he considers his teaching years in Chicago’s public schools a valuable life experience, the tenets of which he still embodies today.
Since switching careers from teaching to pet care, he has worked with pets throughout the Portland metro area and continues to further his education in animal handling and behavior training.
Now, he leads the pack at PetSitter Portland, only hiring the best to join his team of pet care professionals. To ensure the highest-quality services, team members must pass certifications and thorough reference/background checks—and be equally paw-sionnate about animals!
As a native Oregonian, Priscilla has a deep love for the Pacific Northwest and its natural beauty. Having always had pets, she truly understands the importance of giving them the attention they deserve. At home, she has one dog and two cats who are like family to her. Whether it’s cuddling with them or going on adventurous walks, Priscilla makes sure all pets, including her own, feel cherished and happy. With nine years of experience at Banfield Pet Hospital, she has honed her pet care skills, to ensure the well-being of every furry friend.
Besides her love for pets, Priscilla is an avid runner, having completed over 30 half marathons. Her dedication to fitness means that every pet she cares for gets the exercise and attention they need to thrive. When she’s not working, you can find Priscilla in the kitchen, practicing her culinary skills, or getting lost in a book.
Janice is an unwavering animal enthusiast with a lifelong commitment to their well-being. Nurturing a special bond with several canine companions throughout the years, she was a dedicated volunteer dog walker at the Oregon Humane Society. Jan’s passion for service extended to Autism Service Dogs of America, where she volunteered for three years.
Having recently embarked on the journey of retirement, Jan finds fulfillment in nature, hiking and home improvement projects. Family remains the cornerstone of her life, with precious moments shared with her adult children and the delightful presence of her granddaughter.
Griffin has loved and been passionate about animals his whole life. He is a graduate of Oregon State University with a major in zoology, with his long-term dream of a career in zoo-keeping. He wanted this career as a way to give animals in zoos the love and care they deserve, and is now offering this to your pets.
He’s had quite a bit of experience with pets, having a cat for nearly 13 years. Additionally, he has spent some time volunteering with Chintimini Wildlife Center. Whether it’s giving your pets lots of love and attention, or the less glamorous parts of pet care, Griffin is ready to keep your pets happy.
While obviously loving cats and dogs, Griffin has a soft spot for reptiles, and hopes to work with them in the future. He also enjoys reading and playing video games in his spare time, and enjoys casual birding from time-to-time. He continues to seek ways to advocate for animals well-being, such as snakes, lizards, birds, and more.
Originally from San Diego, Alana spent 3 years as a lifeguard for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, where she honed her skills in safety and emergency response. Her love for nature and animals led her to pursue a career in pet care, where she excels in providing attentive care, especially for pets with special needs. Alana has a personal connection to this work, as her own dog requires regular insulin injections, and is blind, giving her a unique understanding of the importance of tailored care for each pet.
When she’s not caring for clients’ pets, Alana loves spending time outside, whether hiking through scenic trails or camping with her beloved dog. Her commitment to ensuring every pet feels safe, happy, and loved makes her an invaluable member of the team. Alana’s background in safety, combined with her lifelong love for animals and the outdoors, allows her to provide exceptional care that pet parents can trust.
Joseph brings a wealth of life experience and a deep passion for animal care to the team. Originally from Southern California, Joseph has lived in New York, Idaho, Colorado, and now proudly calls Oregon home. He is excited to meet your pets and provide them with exceptional care, whether it’s sharing cuddles, scratches, or long walks. His blend of creativity, compassion, and commitment makes him a valued member of the team.
For the past five years, Joseph has cared for two beloved dogs—a Mini Australian Shepherd and a Dachshund—gaining firsthand experience in providing attentive and loving pet care. Beyond his love for animals, he is a talented children’s book illustrator whose work has been internationally published and distributed. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Oregon’s scenic outdoors through hiking, running, and biking, and often captures these adventures through his passion for photography.
Sara was born in Oregon, grew up in Beaverton, and has lived in Portland since moving to the city for college. Throughout her life, she has shared her home with an array of dog companions including pugs, Siberian husky, great pyrenees, beagle, cocker spaniel, and a corgi. Furthermore, she also shared her home with cats, parakeets, rats, gerbils, hamsters, and a turtle. She also enjoys fostering relationships with neighborhood crows and treasures rare encounters with snakes, frogs, and lizards.
After nearly two decades in the restaurant industry, Sara shifted her focus to creating a nurturing home for her daughter. She now spends her time volunteering as a homework coach for immigrant and refugee students at a local high school, cultivating a yearly garden, and transforming recycled silk ties into miniature quilts. Sara looks forward to caring for your beloved animal family members. Whether walking, feeding, playing with, or tidying up after pets, she takes joy in getting to know them as unique individuals and empathizing with their needs.
Kortnie was born and raised in Oregon, where her love for animals was nurtured from a young age. Growing up in a home with no fewer than ten pets at any given time, she gained extensive hands-on experience in caring for a variety of animals and developed a deep passion for their well-being. One of Kortnie’s proudest accomplishments is rescuing and nursing two sick barn kittens back to health, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to ensuring animals thrive and live fulfilling lives.
By day, Kortnie works as a bank teller, bringing her attention to detail and friendly demeanor to every interaction. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Oregon’s beautiful outdoors, fishing, and crabbing along the coastline. When she’s not adventuring, you can find her curled up with a good book or listening to country music, embracing both the energetic and peaceful moments of life.
Joy is a native Oregonian and a dedicated student at Portland Community College, working toward her goal of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. Before pursuing the CVT program, she studied to become a medical assistant but soon realized her passion lay in working with animals rather than people. She is excited to continue her studies while also working part-time as a pet sitter.
She shares her home with a tuxedo cat named Daisy and a Shiba Inu named Tobiko. While she has a deep love for all animals, she proudly considers herself a cat person. Joy’s interest in veterinary care extends beyond her studies—she often spends time at her partner’s veterinary office and hopes to begin shadowing there soon. Thanks to her medical background and hands-on experience, she has a strong understanding of caring for pets, particularly senior animals and those with special needs. Having had senior pets of her own, she embraces the challenge of keeping them happy and healthy.
Outside of school and pet care, Joy is passionate about video games, especially classic titles, and enjoys creating and sharing game-inspired artwork online. Before transitioning into pet care, she worked as a barista for three years, developing a love for coffee artistry. Her go-to drink is an iced Americano, and she loves exploring local coffee shops—often with Tobiko by her side.
Julia has always been an animal lover and understands the stress or anxiety that goes along with leaving pets in someone else’s care. She’s had dogs and cats her entire life and most recently said goodbye to her last fur baby as he crossed the rainbow bridge. Julia comes to this job to ensure the transition of care while you are away is both seamless and comforting. Julia will truly love on your pets like they were her own family. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and making a feeble attempt at growing a home garden.
As a devoted mother to two teenage daughters, Julia has spent the last several years balancing work and family life. Now that she is entering the empty-nest phase, she’s excited to dedicate more of her time to caring for animals. Spending her days with pets brings her joy, and she’s looking forward to building lasting connections with the pets and families she visits.
Owen has had a special bond with animals—especially dogs—for as long as he can remember. His calm energy and genuine love for animals make him a natural when it comes to building trust and connection with pets. Passionate about providing personalized care, Owen is thrilled to support pet parents by giving their furry companions the exercise and affection they deserve. With years of hands-on experience and a heartfelt commitment to animal well-being, Owen is truly in his element when sharing moments with a happy pet.
Outside of pet care, Owen enjoys creative hobbies like video games, photography, and graphic design. He loves capturing moments through his camera and expressing his artistic side through digital design. Gaming is another favorite pastime, offering both fun and inspiration. Most of all, Owen treasures time with his dog, Nami—their daily playtime and adventures together are the highlight of his day.
Kaylee is a true Oregonian, born and raised in the peaceful countryside west of Portland. She is currently a sophomore at Grand Canyon University, working toward a degree in Secondary Education with a focus on English. Growing up surrounded by wide open spaces and animals, Kaylee developed a deep love for pets at an early age. She spent several years horseback riding as a child—an experience she still cherishes and misses. Her rural upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility, compassion, and a natural ease around animals of all kinds.
At home, Kaylee shares her life with three beloved cats and one dog—though she’ll admit the cats might have a slight edge in her heart. She dreams of someday having a homestead filled with animals and teaching in the public schools. Being part of the team allows her to combine passion for animals with her caring personality. Kaylee looks forward to genuinely getting to know every pet under her care.
Sierra is a lifelong animal lover originally from Arizona, with a soft spot for all creatures—especially birds. Over the years, she has cared for the pets of family and friends, and her natural ability to connect with animals shines through in every interaction. She genuinely enjoys getting to know each pet’s unique quirks and personality, and finds real joy in building trust and companionship with them. Now living in the Pacific Northwest, Sierra is excited to embrace the cooler temperatures and rainy days—a refreshing change from the Arizona heat. Her love for animals continues at home, where she recently adopted an adorable baby kitten and puppy who are quickly becoming the center of her world.
Outside of pet care, Sierra leads an active and well-rounded life. She enjoys running, exploring scenic trails, and spending time in nature, especially when it involves a furry companion by her side. She works full-time in property management and values the balance between her professional responsibilities and her personal passions. Sierra also has a deep appreciation for vintage cars and loves spending quality time with her close-knit family. Whether she’s attending a classic car show, gathering with loved ones, or enjoying the company of her new pets, Sierra thrives in meaningful connections—with both people and animals.
